Required for Speak and Conversation modes, and for voice cloning setup

Speech Recognition

Required for transcription (processed entirely on-device)

Internet Requirements

Works Offline

All core translation features work offline after downloading language models

Internet required for:

  • • Initial app activation and language model downloads
  • • Voice cloning features (Pro plan)
  • • Account sync across devices (Standard/Pro)
  • • App updates

How to Check Your macOS Version

  1. Click the Apple menu () in the top-left corner of your screen
  2. Select "About This Mac"
  3. Your macOS version is displayed at the top of the window

If you're running an older version, you can update to macOS 26.2 through System Settings > General > Software Update.
